Our beloved Full Moon Community has taken a seasonal pause for Fall + Winter. As I watch the leaves gracefully dance from Mother Oak’s strong limbs to the ground below, I know many of us missed the connection, acceptance, and love we all received under her arms this summer. I know this is true for me but also for others who reached out and said October felt different without Full Moon Yoga + Sound Bath to ground themselves in the cycles of ourselves and nature.

To me, it seemed like many people in our community felt seen and accepted for exactly who they are – it’s vulnerable to show up to a space and trust others with our most authentic selves . . . and vulnerability is hard.
And vulnerability is a key ingredient in building a village.
We swayed, danced, stretched our bodies, spirits, and limiting beliefs this season – and I (and Sara) am SO damn proud of our community and each of us for continuing to show up when it was hard.
Just as the leaves of Mother Oak fall to the ground to nourish her during the upcoming winter season, we must let all we released fall to the ground and nurture us this season. It’s easy to have “aha moments” under the moon with a group of wild people open to truly listening + seeing you – whether that moment came from an oracle card pull or a sound bath meditation or one of those deep stretches Sara pushed us into, trusting us to trust ourselves to know our limits and when to rest and when to push.

It’s harder to be our most beloved selves in the day-to-day ruts and routines of life. We snap. Say yes when we mean no (or vice versa). We doubt ourselves or pass up an opportunity to play because we “should” be doing something else.
So many of us had little sparks and glimmers of our truest selves under Mother Oak. We could see our happiness, results of hard choices, and simple peace of mind just on the other side of the moon beam. And, dare I say, it’s always easier to see our truest selves when we are surrounded by others who also see – and are open to seeing – our truest selves. When we take off our mask and are greeted with joy and connection rather than shrugs, indifference, or shame. When we dance in the moon beams of true community together. When we re-village our lives.
So, just like Full Moon Yoga started because I had a dream (and a need) of people coming together each month and holding space + community while aligning ourselves under the moon, I have a continuation of this dream . . . a new need (and I know I’m not the only one) to nurture myself, my growth, my dreams, my soul, this cold, dark season in community with others seeking the same.
So, for both myself and for you, I am letting my dream of Nurture, a village of people who nurture ourselves in community, warm us this winter season as we turn inward to rest, rejuvenate, and release what we don’t need for the new year and warm spring and summer seasons ahead.
Nurture is the winter version of Full Moon Yoga, but think cozy, indulgent, and gently pushing us to grow rather than howling at the moon (but I’m totally down for that as well <3).
Each month, from November to March, will feature a playdate (typically free or low-cost) + a ticketed wellness opportunity offered as a structured pause to reflect and grow. Winter will fly by in a flurry of holiday hustle + emotions if we don’t pause every now and then to nurture ourselves – to nurture our community, our village.
So, this is your invitation to nurture yourself – in community – with me this season. Phrased in the most vulnerable childhood and elder questions of our time . . .
Will you play with me?
Will you rest with me?
If you feel a loud, shouting joy of a yes or a tiny whisper of a glimmer of hope that you show up for yourself in this way during this season, join our Facebook group to stay connected. To play. To rest. To nurture yourself.
Always in community,
Katie
PS – You may ask yourself what are these playdates and wellness opportunities?! While later dates are still being finalized, November will feature a hike playdate + sound bath meditation self-love opportunity. Future playdates will be meet-ups at Sacred Waters Kava Bar, game nights, rollar skating, karaoke, + more. Wellness opportunities will include reiki, tarot readings + dream planning, breathwork sessions, group acupuncture, + more!
PSS - Because re-villaging takes all of us, Nurture is a no-cost structure for us to join together + gather virtually and in-person this season. Events may have individual costs or tickets.
